Why I get out of bed

I spent 32 years in Aotearoa — community radio, residents' associations, grid-scale energy policy, MSF field work in Somalia. Now I travel the US in a trailer, do cybersecurity work, and think about how to make things better with fewer words and more action.

My handle is caraka. I've had it since before most social platforms existed, and I'm keeping it.

What I hold to

  • The first obligation of any mature adult or community is to feed the children.
  • Justice is the foundation of any civilised society, regardless of its fashionable isms.
  • Understanding, love and beauty are the three pillars of happiness; grounded in peace.
  • Adwaita vedanta is the grand unifying theory everyone is looking for.
